He preceded her in death on July 3, 1965. She was also active in extra curricular activities such as coaching women's basketball teams and refereeing basketball games, coaching debate teams and musical students when needed. Following graduation from college, Edna taught at Park Falls High School, in her fields of expertise, English and Social Studies. While attending college, she was active in women's athletics and choral music. She graduated from Barron High School in 1931 and U.W.-Superior in 1935 with a Bachelor of Education Degree. Edna was born on Februin Barron, Wisconsin to Edward Nelson Stebbins and Laura A. Maier, age 88, of Baraboo, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2001, at St. Gnewikow-Hooverson Funeral Home, Sauk City A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, B.J. He is survived by sisters and brothers, Earl Maier of Richland Center, Glen Maier of New Providence, Iowa, Vincent Maier of Richland Center, Karen (Bob) Bakken of Cross Plains, and Nancy Maier of Avoca and other relatives and friends. He was born in Springfield township on June 23, 1938, the son of the late Adam "Eddie" and Mildred (Rundle) Maier. Maier, age 64, of Sauk City, died on Thursday, Dec. He will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew him. He enjoyed shooting pool leagues and bowling when he was able to. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and the metal working he did. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, working in his garden and flower beds. He is further survived by his step-father Orrin Zamzow of Baraboo step-brother Harold (Carol) Zamzow of Poynette a very special Aunt Selma Holderman of Madison two nephews and their wives a very special friend who has been like a brother, Bill Meixner and many other family and friends. He is further survived by his grandson Alik Hansen and his mother Evalyn of Wauwatosa his three step-children, Rick Vanderhoof of Fenwood, Kathy (Damon) Englebretson and their children, Deanna and Brandon of Stratford and Gary (Elaine) Vanderhoof and their children, Kylie and Max of Stratford. and Dan (Shannon) Maass of Union Grove, WI. He is survived by his wife Mary, and two sons Corey (Alexa) Maass of Maple Grove, MN. He had been retired since 2000 due to health. He also worked for the steel workers of Madison, Stainless and Repair of Marshfield, Custom Fab of Marshfield, A&B Processing Systems of Stratford and Wisconsin Homes of Marshfield. As a young man he farmed the home farm on Maass Road near Portage, WI. He was born in Lewiston township, Columbia county, in WI., the son of Emil and Jennie (Madland) Maass. until time of the services at the funeral home.
